Reflection on Google classroom

Google classroom simplifies the tasks by combining, eliminating, or organizing the documents. Google classroom will undoubtedly save time and trouble for teachers while grading student's work. Not only does it help teachers, but it also helps students in organizing by putting all assignments and work in one safe place. In Google classroom all the work are done using ICT tools such as computer and words document where there is no requirement for paper.

And it can be also used as a place to post announcement, assignment, and reading materials including video, pictures and students can summit their assignment from any where if there is net and ICT tools that support the Google classroom application.

Students can be invited to join a class through a private code, or be automatically imported from a school domain. And I think that using Google classroom can integrate the use of ICT in a learning process. It can be used as an aid to a teacher where they can use as a means to upload the reading materials like video, through simulation and in PDF form for the children to learn better.

Google classroom is capable for presenting true-to-life situations that learners face every day. Google classroom allows learners to learn by viewing, learn by doing, watching or learn by coaching. All are effective methods for development practical skill and increasing the information retention. The video i had created for my google classroom is given below.

Reflection on communicative tool

What do you mean by communicative tool?
I perceived it as a means of communicating and interacting through instrument like e-mail, chat with teacher and friends on learning topic. The communication can happen before, during and after the lesson. We can either share our experiences on the concept, clarify doubts or can exchange our reflection and understanding with teacher and friends.

To boost the interest of students and keep their attention, teacher can use either use synchronous or asynchronous communicative tool according to necessities in learning. These are two types of communicative tool. The synchronous tools enable real time communication. It is used when we require higher amount of interaction and insistent problem solving. The chat and video conferencing can be used to enhance learning constantly while asynchronous tool like pin up, blogging and virtue learning environment discussion forum can be exercise when students require time in thinking before responding.

Examples of synchronous

                                                       Examples of Asynchronous

How this two communicative tools help in learning?
Both the communicative tools possess advantages and disadvantages by nature of its design. Mutually it amplifies students to construct knowledge through networking and involving in social interaction. It also provides the learners to develop critical thinking especially while asynchronous tool as it does not need to take communication simultaneously. Like for every advantage it also hold disadvantages. This tool may sometime be ineffective to implement in classroom.

For example, if we use synchronous tool, the learner may respond but it may not be appropriate and authentic to valid. As it does not provide space as well as time for students to think and evaluate their respond. While asynchronous may create learners to lose interest in learning after waiting for respond by friends to their questions and taking time to clarify their doubts.
For that purpose, teacher needs to first assess its strength and use accordingly to nature of learning.

Reflection on evaluating information on the internet

Evaluating information on the internet
How do I evaluate information?
Whenever I was assigned with activity and asked to search information on given topic, I judge and to establish that the information comes from a reliable and appropriate source. I consider following five criteria and ask myself the following questions:
Audience
Who is the website’s intended audience? (Academic/ The general public/ school children).
Does it appropriately address the target audience?
Is it relevant for my assignment or research?
Authority
Is the author identified?
Is the author a person I recognize as an expert in his field?
If not, is there enough information provided to establish the author’s credibility?
Is author qualified to write about the subject?
Can I find references to her elsewhere?
Is the author affiliated to an academic institution or credible organization?
Accuracy
Is it free from spelling errors?
Is the text well-written and grammatically correct?
Has the content been through an editing process or been peer reviewed?
Has the author included a bibliography?
Are the sources cited reliable and can they be verified elsewhere?
Are research methodologies adequately explained?

Objectivity
Does the author present objective arguments or make it clear when he is expressing biased opinions?
Are other points of view explored?
Is it a personal website? Does it express personal opinions?
Currency
Is the information up to date?
How frequently is the website updated?
Are the links up to date and working?

How these criteria do helped me evaluating the information?
AAAOC criteria helped me to search the information which is relevant, authentic, and valid my assignment as well as presentation. This information assists me to develop a new knowledge based on my experiences and make my voice stronger. It builds originality and consistency in my voice. It also facilitates to focus on one idea and organized the idea in a logical order.

This in turn creates the listener during presentation to draw their attention and curiosity to know further. If it was argumentative topic or concepts, it empowers the speaker to draw the audience on our strand and make them believe in our statement. For example, presentation on ‘Was Hitler a Gay’ I could influence my friends to consider that he was a gay. This is because I had strong points to infer him as a gay. Another example I had evaluated the information on the topic "Researcher tune material's color and thermal properties separately" is shown below.

Example of how to evaluate the information using five criteria.
